Game Overview

Legends of Valour came out in 1992 for MS-DOS, developed by Synthetic Dimensions. It was one of those ambitious first-person RPGs from the era, trying to blend a living city with dungeon crawling in a way that felt more dynamic than many of its contemporaries. The game didn't have the polish of some bigger titles, but it had a certain gritty charm and a lot of ideas packed into its design.

You play as a young man searching for your kidnapped cousin within the city of Birchendorf. Movement is screen by screen; you navigate the streets, talk to NPCs, and manage needs like hunger and fatigue. Combat uses a simple but timing-based system with swords or bows, and you’ll delve into dungeons and catacombs hunting for clues and items. The pacing is slow, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with survival elements that demand constant attention. It feels like a rough, hands-on simulation of a desperate quest in a world that doesn’t care if you succeed.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
