Oh man, Lemmings 2: The Tribes is such a clever twist on the original. Instead of one generic horde, your little green-haired guys are now split into 12 themed groups—everything from Egyptian pyramid builders to kilt-wearing Highland lemmings. Each tribe has its own vibe, music, and 10 levels to conquer before they'll hand over their piece of the magic Talisman.

What’s wild is how many new skills they threw in. The Classic tribe keeps it simple with the basics from the first game (good for warming up), but then you get weird stuff like pole-vaulters who can jump gaps, or skaters who don’t slip on ice. Some abilities feel almost too niche—like, when would I ever need a sand-pouring lemming?—but there’s a practice mode to mess around and figure it out.

Big change from the original: you’re not just scraping by with the minimum survivors. Now you’re graded on how many you save, with gold medals for perfect runs. It’s brutal but weirdly motivating—I kept replaying levels just to nudge my score up from bronze to silver. And thank god they added proper save files instead of those awful passwords.

Best part? If you get stuck on one tribe, you can just hop to another. Twelve different flavors of puzzle chaos means you’ll always have something to tinker with.
