Game Overview

Lemmings 2: The Tribes came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by DMA Design. It arrived during a time when puzzle platformers were gaining complexity, and it built directly on the quirky, high-pressure foundation of the original Lemmings. The game didn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it expanded the concept in a way that felt both familiar and surprisingly fresh for players used to the constraints of earlier PC titles.

You control a tribe of lemmings, directing them through a series of obstacle-filled screens to an exit. Your main objective is to guide a required number of lemmings to safety in each level. The signature mechanics involve assigning specific skills to individual lemmings; some dig through terrain, others build stairs, and a few even use tools like parachutes or fans to navigate hazards. The pacing is methodical, often tense, as you manage multiple lemmings at once to prevent them from walking off cliffs or into traps. It feels like conducting a chaotic, sometimes frustrating, but always satisfying orchestra of tiny, suicidal creatures.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
