Llamatron came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Llamasoft. It was one of those early PC games that felt like it was pushing what a shareware title could be, a frantic arcade-style shooter that ran on machines most people already had. It didn't try to be a big, cinematic adventure; it was pure, uncomplicated action built for quick sessions and high scores.
You control a llama armed with a rapid-fire energy weapon, moving it around a single screen to survive against relentless waves of enemies. Your main objective is simply to last as long as possible, blasting everything from homing hamburgers and flying toasters to sentient scissors that fill the playfield. The signature mechanics are the sheer number of enemies and the constant, unpredictable spawns; you're always weaving through bullets and return fire, with one hit meaning instant death. It's fast, brutally difficult, and demands quick reflexes and spatial awareness. Playing it feels like trying to survive a riot in a cutlery drawer.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
