Game Overview

Duck Amuck came out on the Nintendo DS in 2007, developed by WayForward Technologies. It was a strange and clever little game for its time, using the DS hardware in ways that felt fresh and genuinely surprising, especially if you were used to more straightforward platformers or puzzle games on the system.

You control Daffy Duck, or at least you try to, as the game itself actively works against you. The main objective is simply to survive a series of short, chaotic stages where the rules constantly change. Signature mechanics include using the touch screen to draw platforms or erase parts of the environment, and blowing into the microphone to inflate Daffy like a balloon. The pacing is frantic and unpredictable, with the difficulty coming less from skill and more from adapting to constant, absurd interruptions. It feels less like playing a game and more like being in an argument with a cartoon.
