Lost Tomb came out in 1998 for arcades, developed by Arcade Studios. It was part of that wave of late 90s games that tried to blend fast action with exploration, something you'd drop a few quarters into between bigger titles. You control an adventurer moving screen by screen through a pyramid, avoiding traps and fighting enemies like scorpions and skeletons. Your main goal is to collect treasure pieces while surviving each room's hazards; some screens force you to grab loot quickly, while others test your timing with falling blocks or arrow traps. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving, especially near the end. It feels tense and immediate, like every decision could be your last.
