Game Overview

Madagascar (EU) on GBA is a side-scrolling platformer where you swap between the movie's main animals to solve puzzles and get through levels. Each character has their own quirks—Alex can roar to scare enemies, Gloria smashes through obstacles, that kind of thing.

It starts simple, just jumping and basic attacks, but later levels force you to think about who to switch to mid-platforming. The controls feel a little stiff sometimes, especially when you need precise timing for jumps. The art style captures the movie's look well, though, with bright colors and decent sprite work for a GBA title.

If you liked the movie, it's a decent tie-in, but don't expect anything groundbreaking. The charm is mostly in playing as these specific characters and seeing familiar locations from the film.
