Game Overview

Major League Manager was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a title developed by Software Toolworks that let you step into the shoes of a baseball general manager during the era of monochrome monitors and keyboard navigation. It was a text-heavy simulation that captured the administrative side of sports long before flashy graphics became the standard.

You control every aspect of a baseball franchise, from setting lineups and managing pitching rotations to negotiating trades and scouting new talent. The main objective is to build a winning team over multiple seasons, balancing player egos, budgets, and on-field performance. Signature mechanics include poring over detailed statistical reports to evaluate players and making strategic decisions during games, such as when to pull a tired pitcher or call for a pinch hitter. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, and the difficulty comes from the sheer number of variables you must track. It feels like running a real front office, where every choice carries weight and a bad trade can haunt you for years.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
