Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga is one of those RPGs that just feels different. Instead of the usual turn-based combat, you're timing button presses to dodge attacks or land stronger hits, which keeps battles from getting stale. The first few hours are a mix of exploring the weirdly charming Beanbean Kingdom and getting used to the rhythm of fights.
What stuck with me was how much personality the game has. The dialogue is genuinely funny, and the way Mario and Luigi interact—like Luigi nervously hiding behind his brother—gives them more character than usual. Even random enemies have these little quirks that make battles feel less repetitive.
It's not perfect, though. Some of the puzzles can be a bit obscure, and there were moments where I got stuck just because I missed one tiny interaction. But overall, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga holds up as a clever, lighthearted RPG with a lot of heart.
