Mario Party 7 throws the gang onto a cruise ship for some much-needed R&R—until Bowser crashes the party, of course. Now it’s back to the usual chaos: rolling dice, scrambling for stars, and getting way too competitive over mini-games. The boards are packed with weird spaces that’ll either screw you over or hand you a lucky break, and the 86 mini-games range from frantic button-mashing to yelling into the included microphone (yes, really).
What’s wild is that you can cram eight players into this one—though two people have to awkwardly share a controller, each gripping half like it’s a life raft. The team battles are where things get really messy, especially when someone inevitably betrays you for a last-minute star steal. It’s classic Mario Party nonsense, just with more tropical backdrops and a few fresh ways to ruin friendships.
