Martian Memorandum came out in 1991 from Access Software, one of those early '90s MS-DOS adventure games that relied on pixel hunting and dialogue trees more than flashy graphics. You play as Tex Murphy, a down-on-his-luck private eye in a run-down future, taking on a case that quickly spirals from a simple missing person into something much bigger and weirder.

You control Tex from a first-person perspective, moving screen by screen through detailed environments, picking up objects, and talking to a cast of suspicious characters. The main goal is to find a missing scientist, which involves collecting clues, solving inventory-based puzzles, and making choices in conversations that can change how the story unfolds. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, and the puzzles can be obscure, demanding patience and attention to detail. It feels like untangling a good mystery novel where every interaction matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
