Play Marvel Super Hero Squad (US) Online

Pick your squad of tiny Marvel heroes and mash buttons to wreck cartoonish bad guys—Wolverine’s claws *snikt*, Hulk smashes the screen, and you swap heroes when one’s about to eat dirt. Co-op makes the chaos even dumber (in a good way).

Game Overview

Marvel Super Hero Squad hit the Nintendo DS in 2009, a time when handhelds were packed with licensed games trying to capture younger audiences. THQ published it, and it was part of that wave of simpler, more accessible comic book titles that didn't take themselves too seriously. It was clearly aimed at kids who watched the cartoon, not hardcore comic collectors.

You control a team of three heroes, switching between them on the fly to use their specific powers against Doom's army of robots and villains. The main goal is to fight through side scrolling levels, smashing everything in sight, collecting sparks to upgrade your squad, and occasionally solving very basic environmental puzzles. Combat is straightforward button mashing; Hulk pounds the ground, Iron Man shoots repulsors, and you tap the screen for team up attacks. The game moves at a breezy pace, never getting too difficult, which keeps things light and action packed. It feels like playing with action figures, smashing them together to see what happens.
