Mega Man ZX takes the classic side-scrolling action you know from the X series but gives it a fresh twist with biometal transformations. You start as either Vent or Aile, just regular delivery kids until an ambush leaves them bonded with these weird, powerful suits. Suddenly, you're jumping between human and Maverick Hunter forms—sometimes you gotta stay incognito in towns, other times you're blasting through enemies with X's iconic buster shots.

The biometal system keeps things interesting. Each one changes how you move and fight—some let you dash through water, others give you aerial slashes—and you’ll swap them constantly depending on the situation. Boss fights are a highlight, especially since there’s this risk-reward thing where going for flashy weak-point hits means more repairs later. The pixel art’s sharp, with that same detailed, slightly grittier look the Zero games had.

It’s got that classic Mega Man difficulty too, so expect some trial-and-error moments when figuring out which biometal works best for a stage. But nailing a tough section or finally unlocking a new form feels great. If you liked the Zero games or just want a solid DS action-platformer, this one’s worth digging up.
