Game Overview

Metroid II on the Game Boy picks up right after the first game—you're back in Samus' boots, landing on SR388 to wipe out every last Metroid before they spread. The planet's all winding tunnels and eerie silence, broken only by those creepy little parasites skittering around. And just when you think you've got their patterns down, bam—they start evolving into nastier versions mid-fight.

It's still got that classic Metroid feel, but condensed into this tiny green-screened world. You'll recognize the power-ups (hello, Morph Ball), but the cramped screen makes everything feel way more claustrophobic. Pro tip: stock up on missiles early—those later evolutions don't go down easy.

Honestly, it's impressive how much atmosphere they crammed into a Game Boy cartridge. The ending? Still gives me chills.
