Mice Men came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Mindscape. It was one of those straightforward puzzle games you'd load up after school, a product of its time when simple concepts and clear goals were enough to hold your attention for an afternoon. There wasn't a lot of flash to it, just a solid idea executed on the hardware people had.

You control a mouse navigating a series of single-screen rooms, each filled with obstacles like mousetraps, shoes that drop from above, and a persistent cat that patrols the area. Your goal is to collect all the cheese in a room to unlock the exit while avoiding these hazards. The movement is grid-based and deliberate; you have to time your dashes between safe spots, often waiting for the cat to turn its back or for a shoe to fall and reset. The difficulty comes from the limited space and the cat's unpredictable patterns, which demand patience and quick thinking. It feels tense and rewarding when you finally clear a tricky stage without getting caught.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
