Game Overview

I first came across Mice Maze in one of those MS-DOS Classic Games collections, a simple but clever little game from Soleau Software. It was the kind of title you’d load up on a slow afternoon, back when games didn’t need flashy graphics to hook you. It fit right in with the era’s straightforward, puzzle-focused offerings.

You control a small blue mouse, navigating a maze one screen at a time while avoiding cats that patrol the corridors. Your goal is to find keys to unlock doors and locate hidden exits, all while memorizing the maze’s layout to avoid dead ends. The cats move in predictable patterns, but their paths often cross yours at the worst moments, forcing quick decisions. The pacing is methodical, almost tense, as you plan each move to stay out of sight. It feels like a quiet game of hide and seek where every wrong turn could mean starting over.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
