Game Overview

Crystal Maze came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Rainbow Arts. It was a time when puzzle games were often straightforward, but this one tried to capture the energy of the British TV show it was based on, bringing that frantic, room-based challenge to the PC.

You control a small on-screen character, moving from room to room across four themed zones: Aztec, Medieval, Industrial, and Futuristic. In each room, you solve a unique puzzle or complete a physical task under a strict time limit, like dodging obstacles, matching symbols, or navigating mazes. Success earns you time crystals, while failure often leaves you locked out or facing a comical penalty. The pacing is relentless; the timer is always counting down, making even simple tasks feel urgent. It feels like being in a race against your own nerves, where every second truly matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
