Game Overview

I picked up Missile Command for the Game Boy Color back when it came out in 2000. It was published by Majesco, and it felt like a solid handheld take on the arcade classic, fitting right in with the kind of quick, replayable games that did well on the system. No frills, just straightforward action you could jump into anywhere.

You control a crosshair with the D-pad, firing anti-missile batteries to protect six cities at the bottom of the screen. The goal is simple: stop the incoming missiles, smart bombs, and aircraft for as long as possible. You have limited ammo per base, so you need to manage your shots carefully and time your reloads between waves. The pace is relentless; waves come faster, and the missiles split and change course, forcing you to stay alert. It feels tense and immediate, especially when youโ€™re down to your last city and scrambling to survive just a few seconds longer.
