Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge came out in 1991 for MS-DOS, developed by Lucasfilm Games. It was one of those point-and-click adventures that defined the era, with its hand-drawn art and clever writing standing out even among other classics. You could tell they put a lot of care into the world and the humor.

You control Guybrush Threepwood, a would-be pirate with a scraggly beard, as he searches for the legendary treasure Big Whoop. The game plays screen by screen; you click to move, interact with objects, and combine items in your inventory to solve puzzles. Conversations with characters are key, often leading to absurd or hilarious outcomes. The pacing is deliberate, with some puzzles requiring real thought (or a walkthrough, if you get stuck).
