Need for Speed Carbon on GameCube is all about nighttime street racing where the city feels alive—neon lights reflecting off wet asphalt, cops lurking around corners, and rival crews trying to shut you down. The first thing you’ll do is pick a car (I went with a tuner at first, but muscle cars handle those canyon drifts way better).

What makes it fun is the crew mechanic—you recruit wingmen who actually help during races, like blocking opponents or scouting shortcuts. The customization’s deep too; I spent way too long tweaking my ride’s vinyls before realizing I should probably, y’know, actually race. And those canyon duels? Pure tension—one wrong turn and you’re eating guardrail.

It’s not the prettiest version compared to newer consoles, but the speed still holds up. Just don’t expect the cops to go easy on you.
