The stages are simple but full of little hazards, like the spinning platforms on Dream Land or the random explosions in Hyrule Castle. And yeah, the N64 graphics haven’t aged perfectly, but there’s something charming about watching polygonal Yoshi yeet someone with his tail.

It’s best with friends (because the AI is either brain-dead or psychic, no in-between), and matches devolve into shouting matches real fast. You’ll argue about items, stage picks, and whether throwing someone off the screen with Fox’s up-air is cheap or just good strategy. Still holds up if you love that raw, unfiltered Smash feel.
