Game Overview

Nitemare 3D is a horror-themed first-person shooter and a sequel to the adventure game Hugo III: Jungle of Doom. Players take on the role of Hugo, who must rescue his kidnapped girlfriend from the sinister Dr. Hamerstein by navigating a maze-like mansion, underground caverns, and confronting supernatural enemies. While heavily inspired by Wolfenstein 3D in its visual style, the game leans more toward methodical exploration and puzzle-solving, with secret panels, hidden pathways, and weapon-specific vulnerabilities adding depth to the experience.

The game features four distinct weapons—plasma gun, magic wand, pistol, and auto-repeat plasma gun—each effective against certain foes but useless against others, requiring strategic thinking. Items like magic eyes and crystal balls aid in uncovering secrets or tracking enemies, while the health system visually degrades Hugo’s face to a skeletal form as damage is taken. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
