Operation Jupiter came out on the Amiga in 1988, developed by Discovery Software and published by Players. It was one of those games that tried to push the hardware a bit, mixing top-down exploration with side-scrolling action at a time when many games stuck to a single perspective.

You control a soldier navigating alien-infested installations, switching between an overhead view for exploration and a side view for intense combat. Your main goal is to destroy the alien mothership, which involves collecting keycards, solving simple environmental puzzles, and battling screen-filling bosses. The pacing is deliberate, with careful resource management of your eight upgradable weapons being crucial to survival. It feels tense and methodical, demanding both quick reflexes and a bit of strategic thinking.
