Game Overview

Paperboy came to MS-DOS in 1988 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Atari Games. It was one of those simple, straightforward arcade ports that felt right at home on a PC, fitting in with the era's growing appetite for quick, repeatable challenges. You didn't need a backstory or complex controls; you just needed good aim and quick reflexes.

You control a paperboy on a bicycle, pedaling down a suburban street, trying to hit subscribers' porches with newspapers while avoiding obstacles like breakdancers, runaway shopping carts, and irate homeowners. The main goal is to complete your route without losing all your papers or taking too much damage. Key mechanics include precise throwing to avoid breaking windows, swerving to dodge unpredictable hazards, and managing your limited supply of papers. The game moves quickly, and the difficulty spikes sharply as you progress, with obstacles becoming more frequent and aggressive. It feels frantic and oddly satisfying when you nail a perfect throw just before swerving past a pothole.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
