Play Pea Shootin Pete Online
Defend your garden as Pete, moving side to side to shoot pests with your pea shooter and collect ammo while stopping them from stealing your veggies.
Pea Shootin Pete came out as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a simple title from the era when shareware disks were common. It was developed by a small team whose name isn't widely remembered now, but it fit right in with the straightforward, action-focused games of the early '90s. You play as Pete, a kid defending his garden from an onslaught of pests with nothing but a pea shooter.
You control Pete, moving him left and right along the bottom of the screen to aim and fire at rabbits, crows, and other critters that pop up from behind bushes and fences. The main goal is to protect your vegetable patches by shooting the invaders before they steal your produce or overwhelm you. Key mechanics include timing your shots carefully as targets appear and disappear quickly, and managing your limited ammunition, which must be replenished by collecting peas that occasionally drop. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty ramps up steadily as more enemies appear from different angles. It feels tense and immediate, like trying to stop a leaky boat with your fingers.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
