PGA Tour Golf came out for the Sega Genesis in 1991, published by Electronic Arts. It was one of the more serious golf simulations available on the console at the time, offering a straightforward take on the sport without a lot of the arcade flair you saw in other games.

You control a professional golfer, selecting from a few different real life PGA players, with the main goal of winning tournaments across a selection of courses. The game uses a three click swing meter for shots; you press the button to start the meter, again to set power, and a final time to determine accuracy. Wind speed and direction play a huge role in every shot, requiring constant adjustment. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, and the difficulty is punishing if your timing is off. It feels like a genuine test of patience and precision.
