Game Overview

PGA Tour Golf on the Sega Genesis is one of those old-school sports games that just gets golf right. You pick your pro, line up your shot while the wind meter wobbles, and pray you don’t slice it into the rough—which, let’s be honest, happens way more than you’d like. The greens feel punishingly real sometimes, especially when your putt stops just short of the hole.

This version (1.2) smoothed out some of the jank from the original, so your swings actually go where you aim most of the time. The graphics are basic—just little pixelated golfers and flat courses—but there’s something satisfying about nailing a long drive or finally figuring out how to adjust for elevation. It’s the kind of game where you’ll mutter “one more round” at 1 AM, even after blowing a three-stroke lead on the back nine.

If you’ve got nostalgia for early ‘90s sports games, this one’s a solid time capsule. Just don’t throw your controller when the AI drains a 30-foot birdie on the 18th.
