Pinball Dreams on SNES is one of those games that just feels right—four slick tables with totally different vibes. You’ve got Steel Wheel’s saloon showdown, Ignition’s spacey launch ramps, Nightmare’s spooky graveyard (watch for the creepy hands), and Beat Box’s music-themed chaos. The ball physics are weighty but not sluggish, and the tables actually reward you for learning their quirks.
Weirdly, the Game Boy and Game Gear versions cut Beat Box—probably because fitting all those flashing lights onto a tiny screen would’ve melted the hardware. The iPhone version’s the sleeper hit though: optional HD visuals, and flipping between portrait (one-handed!) and landscape actually works. First table I tried was Nightmare, and yeah, the organ music still creeps me out.
It’s not the deepest pinball sim ever, but for quick sessions? Perfect.
