Game Overview

Pokémon Ranger flips the usual catching formula—instead of throwing Pokéballs, you’re sketching loops around wild Pokémon with the stylus to calm them down. It starts simple, but some of these critters put up a real fight, darting around the screen while you frantically try to keep the line unbroken. Mess up, and they’ll bolt or even attack.

The story’s got that classic Pokémon charm, with a twist: you’re a ranger helping townsfolk by borrowing Pokémon’s abilities (like using a Pikachu to zap down a blocked path). The touchscreen controls take some getting used to, but there’s something satisfying about wrestling a stubborn Onix into cooperation. Just don’t expect to keep any Pokémon long-term—they’re more like temporary allies here.

It’s a weird little spinoff, but the frantic stylus battles and puzzle-solving give it a personality all its own.
