Play Pool of Radiance Online
You roll a party of six, fumble through monster-infested streets in first-person, then fight on a tactical grid where one wrong move means kobold lunch. Gold weighs you down, spells vanish after casting, and good luck ditching that cursed sword you grabbed.

Strategic Simulations, Inc. released Pool of Radiance in 1988 for MS-DOS, a time when computer role-playing games were often text-heavy or visually sparse. It stood out for its blend of tactical combat and exploration, offering a structured yet open-ended take on the Forgotten Realms setting.
You control a custom party of up to six adventurers, clearing the monster-occupied city of Phlan screen by screen. Combat shifts to a separate tactical grid where positioning and spell selection matter; spells are limited per day, and inventory management is strict, with gold having actual weight. The game is deliberate and sometimes unforgiving, with enemies that can easily overwhelm a careless party. It feels like slowly reclaiming a broken world, one dangerous block at a time.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
