Power Rangers 2 came out for the NES in 1994, published by Bandai. It was one of those later NES titles that tried to squeeze a bit more out of the aging hardware, offering a side scrolling action experience based on the popular TV series. You control the five core Rangers, each with their own unique abilities and weapons, which adds a little variety to the standard beat 'em up formula.

You move through levels screen by screen, clearing out waves of Putty Patrollers and other monsters with basic attacks and special moves. The main goal is to defeat each stage's boss, eventually leading to a showdown with a giant monster that requires the Megazord. Switching between Rangers on the fly is key, as some enemies are weaker to specific characters. The game can feel repetitive and is fairly difficult, with enemy patterns that demand quick reactions. It captures the feel of the show well enough, but the stiff controls and occasional slowdown make it a clunky, though sometimes charming, experience.
