Play Primal Rage on Snes Online
Pick a giant monster, tear into other beasts with claws and weird special moves, and finish them off by literally eating them—because why not? The janky stop-motion just makes the chaos funnier.

Primal Rage hit the Super Nintendo in 1995, a port of the arcade game by Atari Games. It arrived during the peak of fighting games on the system, standing out not for polish but for its bizarre premise. You weren't controlling martial artists; you were a dinosaur or a giant ape, and the goal was pure, simple destruction.
You choose one of seven primordial beasts to control, each with a unique set of brutal attacks and projectile special moves. The main objective is to defeat your opponent in a best-of-three rounds match, but the real goal is to humiliate them. Signature mechanics include finishing a downed foe by eating them or a bystander to regain health, and causing earthquakes or meteor showers that affect the whole screen. The pacing is deliberate, the controls can feel stiff and unresponsive, and pulling off some of the more complex fatalities is a test of patience. It feels like controlling a stop-motion puppet in a claymation disaster film.
