Quest for Glory II drops you right back into your hero’s boots after the first game, but this time you’re in Shapeir—a desert town straight out of Arabian Nights, complete with bustling markets, shady back alleys, and restless elemental spirits causing chaos. The locals are convinced something sinister’s behind it all, and guess what? That’s your problem now.

You pick your class again—fighter, thief, or wizard—but the coolest part is how your choices actually shape the story. Play nice, and you might even become a paladin. The combat’s way more involved than the first game, with high and low attacks, dodges, and parries that make fights feel less like button-mashing and more like actual swordplay. And yeah, you’ll still spend half your time talking to weirdos, solving puzzles, and accidentally setting things on fire if you’re a mage.

What really sticks with me is the atmosphere—walking through Shapeir at night, listening to the music, bartering with merchants who’ll totally rip you off if you let them. It’s one of those games where just existing in its world feels rewarding. Just don’t expect the desert to go easy on you.
