Game Overview

Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire came out in 1990 from Sierra On-Line, one of the many MS-DOS adventure games that defined that era. It picks up right after the first game, dropping your hero into the desert city of Shapeir, a place full of magic, danger, and a very real sense of urgency. The setting feels alive, not just a backdrop, with day and night cycles and characters who follow their own schedules.

You control the same hero you built in the first game, whether a fighter, magic user, thief, or a mix, and your goal is to stop a powerful djinn from destroying the city. The game blends traditional point-and-click exploration with RPG elements like building skills through practice, engaging in real-time combat, and solving puzzles that often require careful timing or creative thinking. It’s not an easy game; some puzzles are obscure, and the 30-day time limit adds pressure, but overcoming those challenges makes success feel earned. Playing it feels like being part of a living story where your choices genuinely shape the outcome.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
