Quick Step! is this weirdly addictive little Atari 2600 game where you control either a kangaroo or a squirrel bouncing on trampolines. The screen scrolls downward, and you’ve gotta time your jumps just right—pink trampolines are worth points when you land on them, but if you can turn them your color (green for roo, blue for squirrel), they’re worth even more when they drop off the bottom.

It sounds simple until you realize your opponent’s doing the same thing, and suddenly you’re both scrambling to claim trampolines while avoiding falling off-screen. The traps add some chaos—hit the button and a trampoline vanishes under your rival’s feet. And those magic hats? Pure mischief. Grab one, bump into the other player, and watch them freeze mid-hop.

Things speed up fast, and by later levels, it’s just a blur of bouncing and panicked button mashing. The final stretch of each level throws a single column of hyper-speed trampolines at you—good luck not faceplanting there. It’s the kind of game where you’ll yell at the screen within five minutes, in the best way possible.
