Rambo on the NES came out in 1987, developed by Pack-In-Video. It was one of those many movie tie-ins from that era, a time when you could find almost any film, no matter how violent, turned into a family friendly side-scroller.
You control Rambo, moving screen by screen through jungles and enemy camps. Your main goal is to rescue POWs, which you do by shooting endless waves of soldiers, avoiding pits, and using your knife and explosive arrows in close quarters. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving, with enemy fire coming from all directions. It feels like a constant, frantic scramble for survival.
