Game Overview

So Rambo on NES is basically that classic '80s action movie crammed into an 8-bit side-scroller. You start off breaking out of military prison (because of course you do), then get dumped into Vietnam with orders to just take photos of a POW camp. Yeah, right. Like Rambo's gonna follow orders when he sees prisoners suffering. The second you rescue that first POW, all hell breaks loose.

The jungle's packed with ridiculous hazards—wasps the size of your head, tigers that leap out of nowhere, even flamingos for some reason. The guards wear color-coded shirts like some kind of evil rainbow, with the red ones being absolute bullet sponges. You've got this weird map system where you step on compass points to change levels, which took me forever to figure out. Pro tip: hoard those exploding arrows for the tougher fights, because regular knives just won't cut it against the later enemies.
