I remember picking up Rambo: First Blood Part II for the Sega Master System back in 1986, published by Ocean Software. It was one of those movie tie-ins that felt pretty common at the time, trying to capture the action of the film on a system that was still finding its feet against the NES. The graphics were decent for the era, with large sprites and some detailed environments, but it definitely had that mid-80s arcade adaptation feel.

You control Rambo through a series of side-scrolling jungle and base levels, shooting enemies with your machine gun and using a limited supply of explosive arrows for tougher targets. The main goal is to rescue POWs while fighting off soldiers, helicopters, and even tanks. The game is screen by screen, so you clear one area before moving to the next, and it’s notoriously difficult; one hit kills you, and enemy fire comes from all directions. It feels tense and unforgiving, like every step could be your last, but pushing through a tough section gives a real sense of accomplishment.
