Game Overview

I first played Rayman Forever on MS-DOS back in 1998, when Ubi Soft bundled the original game with a ton of fan-made levels. It was a time when platformers ruled, and this one stood out with its fluid animation and surreal world. The game felt like a natural part of that era, not trying to be the next big thing but just offering something imaginative and polished.

You control Rayman, a limbless hero who runs, jumps, and punches his way through vibrant, screen-by-screen environments. Your main goal is to rescue the Electoons, little creatures trapped in cages, while defeating enemies and avoiding environmental hazards. Two key mechanics are using your extendable fist to attack from a distance and collecting power-ups like the ability to hover or throw energy projectiles. The pacing is brisk, though some levels demand precision and patience, especially in the fan-made additions which range from clever to brutally difficult. Playing it feels like navigating a whimsical, sometimes unpredictable cartoon where every screen holds a new visual surprise or challenge.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
