Play Rockman DX3 Online

You dash through tight corridors, steal boss weapons, and die to cheap hits thanks to that tiny GBC screen—but nailing a perfect Maverick fight still feels amazing. Zero’s playable in some versions if you need a break from X’s upgrades.

Game Overview

Rockman DX3 (or Mega Man X3 if you're more familiar with the English name) is one of those Game Boy Color ports that actually holds up. It takes the fast-paced, wall-jumping, Maverick-busting action of the SNES games and squeezes it into a tiny cartridge—somehow without losing what makes the series fun.

You start off with X’s basic arm cannon and dash, but before long you’re hunting down upgrades and stealing boss weapons like always. The controls feel surprisingly tight for a GBC game, though some of the later stages will still test your patience (that underwater section… ugh). Zero shows up as a playable character in certain versions, which is a nice touch, and the chip system lets you tweak X’s abilities to fit your playstyle.

It’s not perfect—the screen crunch can make some jumps feel unfair—but if you’re into classic Mega Man challenge, this portable version nails the vibe. Just expect to replay a few bosses more times than you’d like to admit.
