Game Overview

This is a Japanese ROM hack of Mega Man 5 (called Rockman over there) that tweaks the difficulty and adds some wild new robot master designs. At first glance it looks like the classic NES game you remember—running, jumping, blasting through side-scrolling stages—but then you notice the bosses have completely different patterns and some stages throw curveballs with remixed layouts.

It’s still that same satisfying Mega Man gameplay where you steal weapons from defeated bosses, but everything feels just unfamiliar enough to keep you on your toes. The music’s still killer, though. If you’ve played the original to death, this hack gives it some fresh legs.
