Rockman 8 on the Sega Saturn is that classic, slightly frustrating-but-fair kind of platformer where you blast through robot masters and steal their weapons—just like the old days. The Saturn version has these weirdly smooth animations and a soundtrack that somehow makes even the most annoying jumps feel epic. (Looking at you, clown level.)

It’s got all the usual Mega Man quirks: tight controls, punishing boss fights, and that one stage where everything’s on fire for no reason. If you’ve played the PS1 version, the Saturn port feels a little different—some say the colors pop more, others swear the input lag’s worse. Either way, it’s still Mega Man doing what he does best: sliding, shooting, and occasionally getting knocked into pits by birds.

Definitely a solid pick if you miss when platformers didn’t hold your hand.
