Play Rox (Japan) Online
You play as Rox, this little dude zipping through maze levels—setting traps, dodging enemies, and figuring out puzzles that start simple but get devious fast. It’s like Bomberman meets Lode Runner with that chunky GBC charm.

Game Overview
Rox (Japan) for the Game Boy Color is one of those games you stumble on and immediately wonder why nobody talks about it. You play as Rox, this tiny, speedy guy darting through these bright, maze-like levels—dodging enemies, setting traps, and solving little puzzles that start simple but get sneakier as you go. It’s got that same frantic energy as Bomberman, but with a bit of Lode Runner’s platforming thrown in, all wrapped up in that chunky, colorful GBC style.
The controls are tight, and the levels are just the right length for quick play sessions, though I got stuck more than once trying to figure out some of the later puzzles. The whole thing oozes charm, from the bouncy music to the way Rox wiggles when he runs. It never made it outside Japan, which is a shame—it’s the perfect kind of weird little game that makes digging through retro imports so much fun.
If you’ve got a soft spot for forgotten gems, Rox is a blast from the past that still holds up.
