Rox was a puzzle game released for the Game Boy Color in 2000, developed by Natsume. It arrived during a period when the handheld was home to many inventive, compact puzzle titles, and it fit right in with its clean, number-based challenge.
You control a cursor to slide rows and columns of numbered dice on a grid, aiming to align identical numbers so the count between them matches their value. When you succeed, those dice vanish, and new ones drop into place. The goal is to clear the board before it fills up, and the mechanics demand both spatial awareness and quick arithmetic. The pace is deliberate but tense, especially as the grid gets crowded. It feels satisfying to set off a long chain and watch the board open up again.
