Game Overview

Rugby - The World Cup on the Amiga is one of those rare sports games that actually gets the feel of the sport right. It’s fast, messy, and scrums happen constantly—just like real rugby, minus the mud. You get all 16 teams from the 1991 World Cup, and yeah, the stronger teams actually play like it (looking at you, New Zealand).

They stripped out penalties and kept the rules simple, so you’re mostly sprinting, passing, and tackling your way through matches. It’s not hyper-realistic, but that’s what makes it fun—no stopping every two seconds for a rulebook debate. Just grab the ball and run like you’re being chased. The tournament mode nails the structure of the real thing, right down to the knockout stages.

If you’ve ever wanted a rugby game that doesn’t overcomplicate things, this is it. Just don’t expect to walk away without a few bruises.
