Saturn Bomberman came out in 1996 for the Sega Saturn, developed by Hudson Soft. It was one of the standout multiplayer games on the system at a time when local versus modes were a big draw. The single-player mode offered a traditional campaign, but the real draw was always getting a group together in the same room.

You control one of several Bomberman characters, placing bombs to blast through destructible blocks and defeat enemies. The main goal is to clear each screen of foes while avoiding your own explosions and enemy attacks. Key mechanics include collecting power-ups that increase your bomb count, blast radius, and special abilities like remote detonation or kicking bombs across the arena. The pacing is fast, especially with more players, and the difficulty can spike sharply in later stages.
