Saturn Bomberman came out for the Sega Saturn in 1996, developed by Hudson Soft. It arrived during a time when the Saturn was building a library of arcade style games and local multiplayer experiences, and this one quickly became a staple for groups of friends crowded around the TV.

You control one of several small bomber characters, navigating a single screen maze and dropping bombs to blast through soft blocks and, more importantly, your opponents. The main goal is to be the last one standing after the explosions clear. Key mechanics include picking up power ups that extend your bomb blast radius or let you drop more bombs at once, and sometimes kicking bombs to slide them across the floor.
