Game Overview

If you grew up with a SEGA Genesis, this PSP collection is basically a nostalgia bomb—28 classic games in one place, ready to wreck your free time all over again. And if you missed out on the Genesis era? Congrats, you’ve got a crash course in some of the best (and occasionally weirdest) games of the ‘90s.

You’ve got the obvious heavy hitters like Sonic 1 & 2, Golden Axe (all three of them, because why not), and Shinobi III, but the real fun is in the deep cuts. Ever tried explaining Ecco the Dolphin to someone? Now you can make them play it. Comix Zone still feels ahead of its time, and Phantasy Star IV remains one of the best RPGs nobody talks about.

The extras are cool too—developer interviews, concept art, even a few unlockable arcade games. And thank god for save states, because some of these games are brutal. No more losing to Death Adder and starting over from the beginning. You can just pause, save, and pretend you meant to take a break.

It’s not perfect (where’s Streets of Rage?), but for a portable Genesis fix, this is as good as it gets.
