Play Sesame Street ABC & 123 Online

Big Bird waddles across the screen while you mash buttons to match letters, and Cookie Monster’s pixelated grin somehow makes counting to ten feel like an event. The digitized "COOOOKIE" still cracks me up decades later.

Game Overview

Remember that old NES cartridge with Big Bird and Cookie Monster on the label? Sesame Street ABC & 123 is basically a playable episode of the show—if the episode involved mashing buttons to help Grover match letters or watching The Count cackle at numbers. It's slow, simple, and exactly what you'd expect from a late-80s edutainment game, which is kind of its charm.

The mini-games are dead easy (you're mostly pressing A to select the right letter or counting objects), but the pixelated versions of Elmo and Oscar look weirdly perfect on that chunky CRT glow. My nephew got bored after 15 minutes, but I low-key love how janky the digitized voices sound when Cookie Monster says "COOOOKIE."

Not gonna lie, it's more nostalgia fuel than actual learning tool these days. But if you've got a soft spot for that fuzzy, pastel-colored Sesame Street vibe, it's a weirdly comforting time capsule.
