Game Overview
Shadow Dancer on the Sega Master System is basically the little brother of the arcade version—same ninja action, just scaled down for your console. You play as this dude in a blue jumpsuit (because stealth, right?) slinging shurikens and dodging enemy attacks while your wolf companion occasionally pops in to wreck shop. The levels are shorter than the arcade original, but they still nail that tense, fast-paced vibe where one wrong move means instant death.
First thing you’ll notice? The music slaps. That synth-y Sega sound keeps you hyped while you’re jumping over pits and slicing dudes mid-air. The controls are tight, though sometimes you’ll swear that last shuriken should’ve hit. And yeah, the wolf mechanic is cool, but don’t rely on him too much—he’s got a cooldown, so you’ll still need to handle business yourself.
It’s not as flashy as the arcade version, but for a Master System port, it holds up surprisingly well. Just don’t expect to breeze through it—this game loves throwing cheap shots when you least expect them.
